Communication Graduate Assistant
Center for Integrated Professional Development
Ellie Parvin (they/them) received their bachelor's degree in Creative Technologies in May 2021, and then promptly started their master's degree in the same field in January 2022. In addition to working at the Center, Ellie also works as an Audio/Visual Technician at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington-Normal. Their professional passions include lobbying game developers of all shapes and sizes for more gender inclusivity, which is the subject of their Master's thesis, and Intuitive Design in video games, which is designing the interfaces of video games such that the user is less likely to need a tutorial to learn how the game works.
When they're not on campus, Ellie can be found on the quadball pitch, at the D&D table rolling Constitution saves, crafting away somewhere, or developing a video game.
Ellie will be creating and editing podcast transcripts, assisting with the Reggienet transition to Canvas, and boosting the Center's social media presence, along with other projects as assigned to them.
