Hye Hyon Kim is a PhD student in the English department. Her research areas include18th and 19th century British literature, looking specifically at female characters and their personal relationships with objects that allow disguise, social mobility, and agency. She is currently writing her dissertation on the recognition and the methods of female characters’ labor, independence, and survival by using the theoretical lens Object Oriented Feminism.
Hye Hyon likes to hike with her dog, Chandler (yes from Friends, and yes Chandler is a girl) with reminders that squirrels are friends, not food. She also likes to play the Sims for hours on end every six months or so.
Hye Hyon assists the Program Team with various professional development projects.
