Jessica received a BA in Sociology and BS in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago in 2011. She graduated from Illinois State University in 2015 with a Specialist Degree in School Psychology and is currently an advanced doctoral student in the school psychology doctoral program at ISU.
Since graduating from ISU in 2015, she has served as a school psychologist in districts in central Illinois. Her role as a school psychologist has included serving as a member of multidisciplinary problem-solving teams and assessment teams, conducting assessments and interventions with students, providing consultation and support to teachers and families, and implementing and evaluating school-wide programs. She also taught Intro to Psychology (PSY 110) to dual credit earning seniors through ICC and the high school in the district where she worked at the time.
Jessica's research interests include educator stress and well-being, consultation support for educators, and secondary trauma experienced by educators. She is also professionally interested in early childhood education, social-emotional learning, and systems-level change in education. Her hope for the future is to earn an academic position that will allow her to teach and train future school psychologists while continuing to conduct research that focuses on the experiences and well-being of educators.
Jessica lives just outside of Gridley, IL with her daughter and their two yellow labs. They enjoy being outside and staying active, anything that involves music, and spending time with family and friends.
Jessica assists the Program Team with various professional development projects.
