Dear Colleague,
If you still have data in ReggieNet that you want to keep for future semesters, now is the time to act! Once ReggieNet is gone, it’s gone—there will be no way to recover data once the decommissioning process begins starting December 1, 2023.
You can request to migrate a ReggieNet for-credit course site (i.e., courses with catalogue numbers) using this form. It may take several weeks to migrate a course.
Migration may be the best option for instructors who wish to have the full structure of an old ReggieNet course transferred to Canvas, especially if the course makes extensive use of ReggieNet Tests & Quizzes, Lessons, Assignments, or Discussions tools. Again, the deadline to request a migration is Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
However, many instructors find it easier to simply pull their content manually from ReggieNet and build out their courses in Canvas themselves. This is an option until November 30, 2023. Consult these guides to learn how to backup certain tools in ReggieNet.
We strongly encourage instructors who won’t have time to manually pull content from ReggieNet for Spring 2024 courses and beyond to request a migration as soon as possible.
Some ReggieNet sites are not tied to courses, but rather, they were created to support departmental programs, special training programs, or registered student organizations. In Canvas, these are called "Special Use Sites." These sites do have some limitations, however-- for example, Canvas Special Use sites can only be used by current Illinois State students or employees.
Please consult this guide to browse options and request the transfer of content, if needed.
Extensive teaching support is available on the Center for Integrated Professional Development’s Canvas Instructional Support pages.
The Center’s support team is available to assist instructors and staff Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at ProDev@ilstu.edu or (309) 438-2542.
Instructors should send their students to the Technology Support Center for assistance using Canvas. The TSC can assist all users on campus with basic technology concerns, like logging into Canvas or installing mobile apps.
