The University Teaching Council (UTC) is an advisory committee to the Provost on university-wide teaching-related matters and selects the Outstanding University Teacher Awards annually. Members, who are former teaching award winners themselves, represent every college and several other campus units.

University Assessment Services’ (UAS) staff works exclusively in the area of student learning outcomes assessment. In addition to conducting institution-wide projects at multiple points of students’ academic and co-curricular experiences, the staff is available as consultants and co-researchers on class, department/school, and unit assessment projects. University Assessment Services also functions as a central location where assessment-related information can be found.
The center builds on the University’s core value of civic engagement. The intent of creating a Center for Civic Engagement is to bring coordination and a shared purpose to the numerous civic engagement efforts already occurring throughout the University as well as to create new opportunities. The scope of the center is broad and involves supporting in-class and out-of-class learning experiences that partner with the community.
