Dr. Courtney Cox is an experienced educator who brings a background in academic publishing and corporate content strategy to her work as an Instructional Designer. She earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Writing in 2022 from Illinois State University, her M.A. in Digital Publishing from University of Illinois-Springfield, and undergraduate degrees in Anthropology and Sociology from Lindenwood University. While attending ISU, Courtney taught a range of courses, served on the Writing Program Leadership Team, and worked as assistant editor for Rhetoric Review. Her research and writing focus on developing pedagogical strategies that support students’ literacy despite institutional inequities. Outside of work, Courtney enjoys cooking veggie-packed meals with her husband, riding her bicycle on Constitution Trail, and attending fitness classes.
As an Instructional Designer, Courtney collaborates with faculty subject matter experts across the university to design courses for fully online programs.Â
