Course Design Cohorts
Course Design Cohorts are multi-session, interactive learning experiences focused on a developing a course to be taught in the near future. Working within a supportive cohort, participants apply backward design principles to align learning outcomes, assessments, and learning activities and to create course syllabi.
Key Features
- 4-6 sessions, for a total of 20-30 hours of synchronous and asynchronous work
- Ongoing peer interaction, idea exchange, and feedback
- Application of research‑supported teaching practices
- Create artifacts for immediate use

This fully online, asynchronous program will support online instructors in developing practical skills to increase the accessibility and alignment of their courses.

Whether participants are developing a new course or refining an existing one, this course design cohort will provide the tools and frameworks needed to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
(Re)Design Your Course for Civic Engagements
Faculty and Course Instructors are invited to submit a proposal to participate in the Summer 2026 cohort. Course Instructors selected to participate will work to integrate civic engagement and/or sustainability into a course.
Intellectual Property Faculty & Student Upskilling
Faculty and Course Instructors are invited to submit a proposal to participate in the Summer 2026 cohort. Course Instructors selected to participate will learn about Intellectual Property (IP) and create a class project that has IP components.
