Graphics and Production

Thank you for considering CIPD for your poster production needs. Our visual design staff can help you create cutting-edge graphics that will produce high-quality images for presentations, posters, print, or the web. We can print full color images from 8.5" x 11" to poster sizes up to 40" by any length.

Poster File Submissions

University Research Symposium Poster File Submissions

Students should submit their poster for printing no later than Friday, March 27, 2026.

Note: Only one side of your poster may be more than 40 inches. To determine or adjust the size of your poster in PowerPoint, see this helpful guide.

Submit your poster production request using the Research Symposium button below. For printing requests for all other events, please use the Other Printing button.

Students will be notified by email when they can pick up finished posters in Williams Hall.

  • Size

    • Only one side of your poster may exceed 40 inches in length.
    • Make sure your poster is designed for the desired dimensions.

      • If you are working in PowerPoint on a PC, go under the Design Tab and then click on Page Setup.

      • If you are working in PowerPoint on a Mac, go to the File menu and choose Page Setup.

    This will let you know the dimensions of your poster. You can change the dimensions, but make sure you carefully proofread your file before you submit it.

    *Please provide a reasonable amount of space between the edge of the page and your text and graphics to allow for trimming.

  • Accepted File Types

    We accept the following file formats for printing:

    • Only one side of your poster may be more than 40 inches in length.
    • Make sure your poster is designed for the desired size
    • PowerPoint (saved using PowerPoint 2016 or later for Windows or Mac)*
    • PDF
    • High-resolution TIFF
    • High-resolution JPEG
    • High-resolution flattened Photoshop file

    *PowerPoint files created with earlier versions of the software may include format errors for which we cannot take responsibility. Members of the campus community can get the latest version of PowerPoint through Office365.IllinoisState.edu.

    Embedded Fonts: In order to ensure your poster prints as intended, fonts must be embedded in your PowerPoint file using these instructions. Failing to embed fonts may result in substitutions that will noticeably alter your design; the Center is not responsible for design changes caused by a lack of embedded fonts. 

Foam Core Mounting

We offer foam core mounting services. You may choose to have your poster permanently mounted to foam core, or you can purchase a sheet of foam core separately. Please refer to our Service Charges page for pricing details.

Payment

We accept the following methods of payment:

  • Credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express)
  • Department charge: If approved by your department, you must provide the name of a faculty or staff member to include on the bill. In addition, the following departments require an approved charge slip for us to bill your department:
    • Agriculture, Biology, Kinesiology and Recreation, and Psychology.
    • Please speak with the appropriate contact in your department to obtain this slip.

Pricing

We offer competitive pricing compared to other production resources in the area. Please visit our Service Charges page for full pricing information. Our large-format printer produces full-color prints at no additional cost if you choose to print in black and white.

Below are some common sizes and pricing examples:*

  • Size: 48 in x 36 in

    • Printing only: $62
    • Printing and Lamination: $75
    • Printing and mounting to foam core: $97.63
    • Printing, mounting to foam core, and lamination: $110.63

  • Size: 40 in x 30 in

    • Printing only: $46.50
    • Printing and Lamination: $56.25
    • Printing and mounting to foam core: $71
    • Printing, mounting to foam core, and lamination: $80.75

*Note: The above prices are based on the teaching-and-research-related rates and are subject to change. Pricing can vary depending on how many pieces are printed at once. Please contact us and include the following information in your email:

  1. The size of your poster
  2. The quantity needed
  3. Whether you would like the poster laminated
  4. Whether you would like the poster mounted to foam core
