The scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) is a specialized form of inquiry into various aspects of teaching or learning. This workshop series will introduce participants to SoTL, review ways in which data can be collected and analyzed to better understand teaching and learning, and plan a mentored SoTL project. Participants should come to this workshop series ready to reflect on questions they have about their own teaching and learning contexts. Participants will have a documented, draft SoTL project that will have been through two stages of peer review and refinement. These projects will be ready to launch in the fall of 2023 or the spring of 2024.
A $500 stipend is available to eligible participants who complete the program.
This workshop series is intended for those interested in developing a research/creative project to study their teaching or their students’ learning during the 2023-34 academic year, but any instructional employee interested in developing a SoTL project is invited to register.
Due to the time commitment associated with this in-depth workshop, instructors are limited to participation in only one cohort experience during Summer Institute.
