Develop effective learning outcomes, engaging learning activities, assessments which properly align to your assignments, and a welcoming syllabus. This workshop is for faculty in their first three years of service at Illinois State.
This workshop series is based on those for tenure-, non-tenue-track, and instructional staff. However, it is designed for graduate students who teach or aspire to teach.
This workshop series will introduce participants to the scholarship of teaching and learning, review ways in which data can be collected and analyzed to better understand teaching and learning, and plan a mentored SoTL project. Participants will have a documented, draft SoTL project that will have been through two stages of peer review and refinement.
Promote active learning experiences and assessment through which students can gain an awareness and understanding of civic engagement as a lifelong responsibility.
Incorporate diverse content, curriculum, and perspectives into your teaching and support students in being mindful of the diverse ways people communicate and learn.
Due to the time commitment associated with cohort experiences, instructors are limited to taking only one of these workshops during the summer of 2024.
