Proctortrack is an exam proctoring solution available to instructors upon request.
You can also use Zoom to facilitate a live proctoring of an exam, similar to the way you would proctor during an on-campus exam. Zoom includes a Gallery view, which could be used to simultaneously watch all students on camera as they complete the exam.
Note: Not all students may be using a computer with a webcam. In addition, using a webcam may create bandwidth issues which could affect their ability to successfully complete an online exam. Instructors should consider alternatives if this is the case.
Revise the exam to a different, but equivalent, form of assessment. For example, instead of 50 multiple choice questions, pose a few essay questions that require students to think critically and/or synthesize the main concepts.
Ask fewer questions and require students to show their work or provide rationales for their answers.
The Center can work with you online or by phone to learn more about your specific situation and help you think through those issues. Email ProDev@ilstu.edu or call (309) 438-2542 to discuss options.
