The Center for Integrated Professional Development provides a growing list of options for faculty who wish to enrich their teaching through instructional consultations. Get a new perspective on your teaching by taking advantage of one or more of the following services.
Explore Consultations
Accessibility Consultations
Work with a member of the Center for Integrated Professional Development staff to assess your course content in terms of its accessibility for those with special needs. Accessibility Consultations identify ways you can improve the accessibility of your course materials, especially those communicated through web-based or other electronic channels.
Classroom Observations
See your classroom through the eyes of a professional observer or invite a colleague to observe your teaching. Find out more about Classroom Observations.
Instructional Strategy Consultations
Our Instructional Strategy Consultations let you sit down with a member of the Center staff to begin a systematic approach to dealing with a teaching/learning issue in your classroom.
Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI) Consultation
Intercultural Development Inventory® consultations helps you grow your awareness of culture and diversity issues. The Center for Integrated Professional Development consultants are qualified to guide you through the IDI assessment process and work with you to plan future growth.
Midterm Chats
Midterm Chats, also referred to as "Small Group Instructional Diagnoses," allow you to see your course through the eyes of your students—at midterm, while there’s still time to make adjustments and improve student learning.
Program Chats
Program Chats are consensus-building processes that enable departments and schools to gain insights into students' perceptions about their learning in an entire program. All program chats must be requested by a department chair or school director.
Online/Blended Course Review
Through our Online/Blended Course Review, you’ll be able to see your blended or online course through the eyes of a professional consultant.
Online Course Design Consultation
Meet with a member of the Online Education Instructional Design team to learn about best practices for designing a course online, including ways to promote student engagement, scaffold and structure content, and ensure your course is accessible for all learners.
Technology Consultations
Get advice on incorporating technology into your teaching plans. Our staff is available for in-person or online one-on-one consultations covering a wide variety of technologies, including Canvas, Canvas Studio, Nearpod, Padlet, and Zoom.
